stuffed animals are made with the best materials. They have been around for
over one hundred years. Gund was started by Adolph Gund in Norwalk,
Connecticut in 1898. Adolph Gund retired in 1925 and sold the company to
Jacob Swedlin. Swedlin then passed the company to his daughter and her
husband, Rita and Herbert Raiffe. The company remained in their family until
2004 when Jim Madonna took over. This is the first time it has been run by
someone outside the family. Gund under stuffs its toys leading it to be
known as the world's most huggable stuffed toy. Gund started many safety
standards for the toy industry. Gund was the first company to make a musical
toy that everyone could afford. They are the company that started attaching
the eyes securely to the stuffed toy so small children could not pull them

One of
the most notable gund plush toys is goober. Goober has been around for
several years and comes in a variety of sizes and may be one of the most
huggable bears. New for 2007 is Bobbidi with a pronounced snout and big
beary feet. Bobbidi is available in two sizes, nineteen inches and fifteen
inches.
